Stamp Duty Land Tax
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is a tax charged on land and property transactions in the UK. If you buy either a freehold or leasehold property and the purchase price is more than £125,000, you pay SDLT of between one and four percent of the whole purchase price as follows:

| Over £125,000 to £250,000 | 1% |
| Over £250,000 to £500,000 | 3% |
| Over £500,000 | 4% |
| Over £1,000,000 | 5% |
